what they say about us
This place is like a magical oasis from the hustle and bustle of mainstream Bali. If you want to experience the true culture of Bali you should definitely stay here for a few days.
For us, we did run into issues with our small children. Its a traditional style house and our kids like running and jumping so there was the potential for some accidents. Also there are a couple of dogs that live here (friendly) which our children were a little scared of at first.
Dwik, Baba and Mama all made us feel comfortable right away and were always available for us. Baba even took us into the city and showed us around which was nice. Mama's breakfast helps start your day off wonderfully. Everyone is so nice and accomodating. I can definitely recommend this place for a few days as you explore Bali.
Thanks again everyone!
Our stay with Berlin has got to be one of my top favorite experiences through AirBnB! He picked us up from the airport, was very friendly and social, spoke wonderful English (learned from video games and comic books!) and took us to dinner after a long travel day with locally recommended spots the following day. We were very lucky to have spent a full day with Berlin and his family, starting with a traditional Balinese breakfast at the property followed by private transport to multiple locations across Bali, recommendations directly from Berlin. They were kind enough to take us across the island (adventure intermittently) to our final resting location after our night on their incredible property.
The property was INCREDIBLE. A traditional Balinese family home, beautifully kept, with a modern twist inside. The accommodations were spacious, two separated queen sized beds with a shared bathroom in the center, easy enough to sleep 4 comfortably. This would be a great space for two couples or a family with two children to share.
I will definitely be visiting this property in the future and would highly recommend anyone to stay there - BUT! Be sure to book for more than one night, as we did not want to leave in the morning after breakfast and wish we could have spent more time enjoying the beautiful architecture of the garden.
Happy time is always so short. Thanks to barlin and family! Warm, kind, friendly, our family of four spent four days here happy holiday.
1. The whole house is clean and tidy, the garden landscape is very beautiful, the yard is large, and the kitchen is complete.
2. Barlin's mother is a very kind, careful and beautiful host. The breakfast was very delicious, during which I was very lucky to have a special local lunch for us, thank you!
3. Barlin is a sunny, cheerful, kind, friendly, talkative handsome boy, always warm, careful for our service. I wish you a speedy recovery!
4. Barlin's father, an honest and friendly man, provided us with vehicles for a small fee.
If we have the chance, we will come again. Also highly recommended! Recommended!!! Recommended!!! Believe me, choosing this house will have a very beautiful, warm and romantic memory!
Finally, I wish barlin and her family good health and happiness! At the same time, we sincerely invite you to come to China!
First of all, Berlin is definitely a superhost. Right from the get-go, he patiently waited for us at the airport as we were stuck in a long line at immigration, then he helped us get a sim card, and offered to stop by a restaurant for dinner. Over the next few days, he showed us around the nearby area and to a few "secret spots," which was awesome. Berlin is very communicative and full of valuable information on Bali. However, the hardest part for us was the location of his place. We enjoyed being in more of a local area, but it proved to be hard without transportation. This was our first time to Bali and we realized that getting around can be tough without your own mode of transportation. Since we didn't feel comfortable driving, we found it hard to even leave the neighborhood without asking for a ride from Berlin's dad (who was always very gracious). It was very hard to call a taxi, Grab, or Go-Jek to this area. There are a few cafes within walking distance, but take note that you have to walk along a street with a lot of dogs and no one else walking. If you want to go to Canggu, it's at least a 30-minute drive away. The apartment itself is pretty comfortable, but we were disappointed that the bathroom inside did not have hot water. The only hot water shower is outside and it's shared with the whole family. We also felt the toilet/shower area needed a good cleaning (it's the type where the whole floor gets wet). Other than that, the wi-fi worked well, though we did experience some brief power outages the last few nights of our stay. Overall, Berlin's a great host, and if you don't mind driving, this is a good place to stay for a few days to get a real Balinese experience.
